Honestly, I have never been an obsessive type of person. Since I bought the new LCD HDTV, though, I seem to have a cleaning fetish. With my previous television set, which was a simple 32" TV, I would just spray the Windex on it and wipe off with a rag. I have since learned NOT to do that with my LCD HDTV.

I like to help my wife out with the cleaning around the house. One of the rooms that I normally clean is the living room. I will dust, vacuum, clean the home theater components, wash the windows, and anything else that needs to be done. One of those duties is to clean the TV screen when it looks dusty or has fingerprints from the kids. The day after we bought our new LCD HDTV, I noticed that there some fingerprints on it. Probably from setting it up. I grabbed the Windex and started squirting. Big mistake! I think the streaks are still there!

My wife came into the living room and let out a little gasp at what I was doing. I should have known then it was a mistake, but I still continued. Anyway, after that cleaning I haven't done it since. At least with Windex. I think that experience traumatized me that now I am cleaning the LCD HDTV almost everyday! I looked online for a way to clean the LCD HDTV without leaving streaks and came to a website called Love's Electronics at www.loveselectronics.com. There was a cool little cleaning kit called the Tritton LCD/Plasma Wizard Cleaning Kit. It doesn't leave streaks and it cleans in a way that there is no chance of scratches either. I knew I had to have it.

The only problem with buying the LCD HDTV cleaning kit from Love's Electronics is that now I can't seem to put it down! My wife is starting to worry about me a little. I seem to have to clean my LCD HDTV every other day. In my mind I am always seeing fingerprints, or smudges that just have to be cleaned. Last week my wife actually hid the LCD HDTV cleaning kit on me. I tore the house apart looking for it! After I found it, I found a hiding place of my own - under lock and key - so no one can take it from me again. I think I may have a problem. But, my LCD HDTV is super clean!
