There are times when I worry a lot about my parents. One of them is when they take off on the road in their new motorhome. They have never been all that interested in traveling all their lives. Then one day my dad pulled into the driveway with a brand new motorhome as a surprise gift for my mom as a 40 year anniversary gift. My first instinct was to talk him into selling it before he gets into trouble with it. But, he insisted on taking off on the road. Before he went I went out and bought him a Garmin GPS so he wouldn't get lost.

My parents had always planned to go to Niagara Falls, but living in Washington state made that a long trip for them. Now, they reasoned, they had a motorhome and would just take their time and drive slowly while staying at campgrounds. I loaded the Garmin GPS with the map details and campground locations along the way and hooked it up in their motorhome. After spending a few days teaching dad how to use it, they were ready to go. I called him two days into their trip on their cellphone and asked how they were doing. He said all was great but the blasted woman talking from the Garmin GPS was starting to get on his nerves!
